Perhaps Significant – NEW VIDEO

feldermelder collaborated with director Brigitte Fässler and Krumping dancer Germain Zambi for the short film ‘Perhaps Significant’, taken from Feldermelder’s album «Euphoric Attempts».
The film circles in on the fight with one’s own inner demons. This struggle with an imaginary enemy, who turns out to be no one other than oneself, makes the fight all the harder and existential at its core.
Brigitte Fässler captures Germain Zambi’s movements – both sublte and eclectic – in an undefined room submerged in red light. The hand-held camera first rests close to the protagonists face, before moving away to show the energy Zambi puts into the brawl and dialogue with his invisible counterpart. «I wanted to keep the minimalism and rawness in Feldermelder’s musical composition and found that krumping mirrored the sensation of hidden inner turmoil and the emotionality of the piece», Fässler explains. French krumping dancer Germain Zambi is the winner of the International Illest Battle 2021, making him reigning krumping world champion.
